Rodeo!

The Animals from the book came to life today at the Livestock Show and Rodeo! So excited to see and hear the moooooos and oinks and baaaa's and bukbukbuks. It was a difficult time getting Allison to finally fall asleep later on but the face of pure joy was well worth the extra 30 minutes. Her sweetness was exausted!!

Saturday in the park.........

We spent the first part of the beautiful sunny weekend at the Houston Arboretum/Nature Center and Memorial Park.

Now that the weather is finally nice and there is more daylight, Allison hates to be inside. In fact, whenever the dogs go out, she huffs and wails her arms up in the air and insists she go out there with them.

We play by our tree and draw with crayons as well as pick up leaves and brush them on the trunk's surface. Every now and again she'll stand up to hug her tree. She is one with nature and loves everything pertaining to the outside world. She points and talks to the squirrels while she watches them eat their nuts on the tall ash tree.

These are the moments I relish. You see everything for the first time again through the eyes of your child...

Birthday Party

On Sunday we celebrated with all her friends and family. We had a blast! There were a couple of bouts of fussiness from the lack of an afternoon nap but once the chocolate cake came out and the sugar set in we were good to go.
