Braids

I declared it was braids week in the Carter House and everyday I did the best I could to put 2 "trensitas" (that's braids in Spanish) on Allison. She kept touching them and making sure they were always there whenever she made a sudden move.

Action Shot:
(which I may now incorporate into a bottom swoop and pull the 2 ends together.. hmmm)

Hey TuTu! Wanna Play?

We have so much fun playing dress up and pretending we are ballerinas like from the Houston Ballet commercials. Did I just say "we"? Yes, Momma too. Although I don't have a tutu to twirl in but I am teaching her all my moves. We are so graceful here, people. We fall over every time we twirl! Such fun!

Got Nutella?

How do you cure the Back to School Monday Blues?
You have Nutella on a slice of bread  for breakfast and make a mess of your face, baby!

Happy 5 Months Kate!

Happy 5 months to baby sister Kate! She is such a sweetie pie. I truly enjoy spending my days with her. She is such a happy baby. Only thing, she still wakes up once a night to eat. It's crazy how used to it I have become. There are days where I think she will never sleep straight all the way through. She's still cute and nothing satisfies me more than to make her happy! But I'm not going to lie, more sleep would be oh so nice....
ehhh, maybe in a couple of years.....

Go Texans!

I thought it would be fun to see back to back pictures of the girls. One in 2009 of Allison wearing the Texans jersey onesie at 7 months old and Kate (5 months) wearing the same jersey for the first game of the regular season..  The chunk factor difference alone is huge. Hopefully this year the Texans will be better than the '09 season. (Record: 9–7 Division Place: 2nd AFC South)

...........and I realize they look a little bit like boys in these jerseys but in a couple of months I'll put Kate in the cute girly cheerleader outfit for some more back to back fun!

Poor Ninja

We almost got rid of Ninja a year ago this month and aside from his usual annoying habits of barking, swiping food, constant licking he has become a really good friend to Allison. He welcomes her at the bottom, sometimes top of the stairs every morning when she gets out of bed, he anxiously awaits for her to come home from school so she can release him from his cage, she feeds him his dog food and much to our disapproval her own food at times. She lets him in from the backyard when he barks at the back door. These two are good buddies and I'm so glad we gave him another chance. He recently went to the vet and was diagnosed with cataracts and Congestive Heart Failure Stage 4 so we are unsure how much longer we have with him so every day is now a special one with this little bugger!

Jumpasaurus

We dusted off the old jumparoo and put Kate in it for the first time a few weeks ago. She loves it and it keeps her in one place. Allison wanted to jump in it of course but instead we kindly explained to her that it was for babies and when she was a baby she used to jump in it. We told her to teach Kate how to push the buttons and make the lights go off and like a great big sister she did just that.
