Curly Kate?

Look at all this hair coming in!? Oh Brother, I think it's going to be cute and curly like Allison's too. It's a good thing I guess although I secretly wished that she would have some pin straight Asian girl hair so I can run my fingers through  and we would be good to go.  Now it's going to take even longer to get ready in the AM and longer to get shampoo out of the hair at night. High maintenance hair is evil!! Again, we'll see what happens. She's still cute and they'll have to figure it out later on their own.

The clingy stage is in full swing. I have mastered many arts (no, not really) but the one that I truly can say I can do best is holding this girl whilst cooking, cleaning, picking up, folding, reading, eating...... and so on.  fun times.

Kate Crawls and stuff

Baby chickadee started crawling Jan 2nd and is now steadily trying to climb stairs. (Who does she think she is?) Anyway, it is scaaaaaary. I can't keep my eyes off of her for one second. She likes to get into trouble if I back away into the kitchen for a few seconds. Before you know it she is trying to make a mess out of the dogs water bowl or she's trying to reach up to the stove while I'm in the kitchen. I really don't know how we eat at night sometimes. I forgot how adventurous they are at this stage. I thought I would be more laid back about the whole 2nd child mobility stage but it frightens me even more. I have to keep Allison's smaller toys away from Kate so she doesn't accidentally grab them and put them in her mouth. I have to keep her away from wires. (oh how I forgot!) I just need to duct tape her to the wall, I guess!! (just kidding).

On the other hand, Allison has become a dream older sister. She entertains Kate while I am getting food ready to bring to the table and Kate is crying. She keeps her from getting to certain things she shouldn't be especially if they belong to her, of course. She freely gives Kate hugs and too many kisses that I can't even keep track of anymore. There are some crazy times where I could surely go bald if I wanted to. Motherhood does test all emotional aspects of life. Patience being the big one. But the fun times seem to outweigh the bad times exponentially!! Even if at the bad "time" we don't seem to think so... :)

Crawl, Baby Crawl!

Kate started crawling the day after New Years. Lookout everybody! (Video to come later).
She is also teething like crazy. She now has 2 bottom teeth, 2 upper teeth and two more uppers budding through. Poor girl, POOR mommy. :)

New Years Dinner with The Hadjioannou's

The Hadjioannou's had us all over for New Years dinner. The food was superb as always and the kiddos had the best time!

Happy New Years!

We had Mya over for New Years for a fun little sleepover. We ate pizza, apples and shared a special cupcake for dessert. The girls put their party hats on and blew their horns to celebrate the new year.

 

We watched a movie and enjoyed some popcorn. Soon after they went to bed and fell right to sleep.

The next morning they played outside for a while.

Taking a break to smell the Rosemary
